The Edge’s ‘Hell’ Over Daughter’s Cancer

The wife of U2 star The Edge has described for the first time the “hell” the couple endured after their daughter was diagnosed with leukaemia.

The rocker’s partner Morleigh Steinberg admits she was devastated when doctors told her that Sian, now 13 years old, had the life-threatening illness in 2006.  Steinberg says,

“You’re in shock then you just go into survival mode.

“The whole thing is hell but at the same time you stay positive and you really live. You live more because you don’t want to take anything for granted.”

The “Beautiful Day” hitmakers postponed a string of dates on their Vertigo tour after the guitarist, real name David Evans, received the news.  He took his daughter to receive treatment in Los Angeles and Dublin, Ireland and she has now made a good recovery.  Steinberg adds:

“She’s through it and she’s fine.”

I’m so glad this had a happy ending!

Bono and his wife Alison enjoyed some family time in Central Park this morning.  The couple and their two youngest children, Elijah and John, strolled around the park and snapped a few family photos.

Alison and Bono have been married for 28 years and share four children together – daughters Jordan (21) and Memphis Eve (19) and sons Elijah (11) and John (9).

After having to postpone his tour to have spinal surgery in May, U2’s frontman is back to performing, according to his band mates.
