‘So Random’ Star Tiffany Thornton Is A Voice For Meningitis

You may know her as the bubbly actress on Disney’s So Random, but aside from her many talents Tiffany Thornton is lending her voice and star power to the Voices of Meningitis campaign.

What many fans probably don’t know is that Thorton, 24, almost lost her life to meningococcal disease as a teen.

Tiffany joins other survivors in the Voices of Meningitis, a national awareness initiative of the National Association of School Nurses (NASN), that aims to increase awareness of this potentially deadly disease and urge parents to seek vaccination for preteens and teens.

Tiffany said, “One day I was fine, the next day I was in the hospital fighting for my life – it happened so fast. If my parents and I had known that teens are at greater risk for meningitis, I would’ve been vaccinated. Now I’m adding my ‘voice’ to this campaign to urge parents to talk to their child’s school nurse or health-care provider about vaccination, to help them avoid what my parents and I went through.”

Aside from Tiffany fighting the good fight, she also is a newlywed and is currently dabbling her skills in the kitchen! For Tiffany, cooking is “an escape from everything else I do.”

Seeing as how Tiffany is a newly married woman, we had to ask if she was interested in having children anytime soon. She said, “I love children – I mean I work for Disney! It’s all up to God’s plan. We would love to have children when the time is right.”
