Approximately 12,000 pairs of rollerblades are being recalled. The Rollerblade® Tempest Inline Skates are recalled as the mounting holes in the boot and frame can be misaligned causing the boot to separate from the frame and posing a fall hazard.
The recalled skates are of the high performance type, so it’s likely your kids won’t have these hanging around, but you never know! The brand name “Rollerblade” appears in several locations on each skate. The model name “Tempest” appears on the back of the cuff and the model number appears on the side of the heel of each skate. You can see all models here.
No injuries have been reported and the company is offering a replacement to its customers.
The skates were sold at Blades, Paragon, Peter Glenn, Play it Again, Summit Sports and other sporting goods stores and at Amazon.com from December 2010 through January 2014 and sold for between $350 and $450.
