Ioan Gruffudd Gushes About His Daughter On The Rachael Ray Show

‘Ringer’ star Ioan Gruffudd and his wife, actress Alice Evans (The Vampire Diaries), share a daughter, Ella Betsi, 2.  The actor stopped by the Rachael Ray Show today to talk family. Here’s a peek at the interview:
Ioan and Alice find a way to balance their hectic filming schedules:
“Unfortunately, that show (Vampire Diaries) shoots in Atlanta , so no we’re not in the same town. The last time she was there for 10 days. So I had Ella the entire time, playing “superdad.” It’s very exciting. I love it. I can’t get over what great company they can be.”Ioan’s daughter has started to speak:

“Now she’s able to communicate and starting to form full sentences and that evolution is just beautiful to us.”

He says Ella takes after his wife:

“She’s very, very strong. She’s like her mother. So I’ve got my work cut out for me at home. She’s insistent on not going in her bed right now.”Ella would rather play in his trailer than the children’s playroom with Sarah Michelle Gellar’s daughter, Charlotte:

“Sarah’s got a 2 and a half year old daughter, so have I. I think they’re like 10 days apart. Well, my daughter comes to set and she’s like “No, no daddy. Trailer, daddy’s trailer.” She wants to play in the trailer.”

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Daughter Charlotte Are Best Friends

Sarah Michelle Gellar, television icon, has returned to the small screen in the CW’s Ringer. Now, with a 2-year-old daughter Charlotte, Gellar opens up to Shape magazine about how her priorities have changed.

On her new priorities: “Charlotte is my best friend, and any free time I have, I want to spend with her. But while it’s easy to forget yourself, I can’t define myself as only Charlotte’s mother—one day, she’s going to be an adult, and then where am I? Like in any other relationship, you have to remember who you are through all this. After she goes to bed at 7:30, I might take a bath or read. And Freddie and I get our time together, too. Relationships are like flowers: They need attention to grow and develop. You have to make time to be there for the other person. Luckily, Charlotte’s a sound sleeper, so once she’s down, we can have friends over and have dinner and conversation and not worry.”

On life after Charlotte: “I’ve been doing the birthday-party circuit with my 2-year-old. Every weekend, we’re at two or three parties. Now, I’m not going to eat the cake at every one, but when it is homemade or looks particularly good, I’ll indulge. I like Carvel ice cream cakes a lot. And really, how is eating a piece of cake bad? Being bad is murdering someone. That’s bad. Don’t do that.”

On keeping her body fit: “I still work out, but not five days a week. I do pilates, I run on the treadmill, I walk to the soundstage rather than taking the cart. I wish I could say I was in the best shape of my life right now, but I don’t put the same pressure on myself that I used to. So I don’t rock a bikini on Wilshire Boulevard—but I don’t know many people who do! I don’t think people turn away in horror when I walk by. I figure I’m doing something right. I do whatever I can whenever I can, but if I’m tired, it’s OK to just be tired. You know what’s really annoying, though? How much better I feel when I do wake up early enough to work out!”
