Reese Witherspoon Frightened By Car Accident

Reese Witherspoon was hit by a car last Wednesday (Sept. 7) while jogging late in the morning. And, a week later, she is still shaken up about the incident.

“The whole incident really frightened her,” a source tells Us Weekly. “It was very scary… She’s very lucky. [Now] she’s just resting up, but it’s been a very scary experience for her and Jim [Toth].”

“The odd thing about all of this is that Reese has always been very afraid of being hit by a car. It’s been an ongoing fear of hers,” adds the source. “She is always the first person to pull people away from the edge of the curb because she doesn’t want them being accidentally hit.”

Let’s hope she has a full recovery – physically and mentally.

Reese Witherspoon Hit By Car While Jogging

On Wednesday morning (Sept. 7), Reese Witherspoon was hit by a car while having a late morning jog.

The Walk the Line star “suffered minor injuries,” according to the police report, and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

A witness at the accident tells Us Weekly: “The driver seemed to have not seen her because of a large tree at the intersection…[Reese] was lucky, because it could have been much more serious.”

The driver, an 84-year-old woman, was cited with failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

Witherspoon is recovering at home with her husband Jim Toth and her two children, Ava and Deacon.
