Check Out These Monstrous BBQ Recipes!

Currently the number one movie worldwide, the sequel to the wildly popular Monsters INC follows Mike Wazowski (voice of Billy Crystal) who attends Monster University to achieve his goal of becoming a Scarer. Although, his plans are derailed when he crosses paths with James P. Sullivan, “Sulley” (voice of John Goodman), a natural-born Scarer.  Their out-of-control competitive spirit gets them both kicked out of the University’s elite Scare Program. The pair realize they will have to work together, along with an odd bunch of misfit monsters, if they ever hope to make things right.

What better way to keep up the Monster fun than with these “Monstrous” barbecue recipe? Make Mike’s Melonade for the whole family. Kids will love the Cilantro Corn on the Claw while parents indulge in Roaring Ribs and Scare School Steak.

Storybook Deluxe App Review

I am THIS excited about seeing Monsters University this summer! I can remember seeing the original Monsters Inc. at the movies with my dear friend John so many moons ago (10 years to be exact) while thinking, “Why am I seeing an animation film?” (I was 21 at the time) and completely fell in love with it instantly. I can’t believe we’ve been made to wait this long for the next Monsters film!

In anticipation of this summer’s prequel, Disney Publishing has a released a brand new app –Monsters University Storybook Deluxe! The fully animated interactive storybook is now available for $6.99 in the iTunes App Store for the iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad Mini and sheds new light on the story of the friendship of beloved monster pals Mike and Sulley.
Young readers ages 6-10 will find out how the fun-loving monster duo went from being mismatched strangers to inseparable pals by exploring original film clips featuring official character voices, interactive storytelling exercises, game activities and more. Additional app highlights include:
•   Create your own Monsters University ID badge & “Monsterify” photo tool
•   3D, first-person game views and special rewards
Read-to-me and read-on-my-own narration options
The kids and I had a lot of fun playing with the app this evening and enjoyed making our own ID badges (the kids made a dozen or so of them, see below), playing the games (I can never tilt the iPad enough to get passed the first level, but hey I’m still learning!) and of course enjoying the read-to-be narration options, too. It’s a great way to get pumped up about the movie, too. We love it!
Thanks Disney for the great entertainment once again.
