Matilda Will Pick Out Michelle Williams’ Oscar Gown

When Michelle Williams preps for the Academy Awards this weekend, she’ll have a lot of hands on deck helping her get ready. The My Week With Marilyn star’s friend Busy Philipps tells E! that their daughters will be helping them get ready for their big night out.

“Both of our daughters will be around, that’s always a little chaotic,” says the Cougar Town star, who is mom to Birdie. “The little girls like to see their moms get dressed up and then they don’t want us to leave.”

While Michelle and Busy are walking the red carpet, their daughters Birdie and Matilda will be having a super fun play date! “Matilda’s got all her family with her and my daughter will be with them and my husband,” Busy says. “So I think they’re going to be together. We’ll have them have a little playdate. So cute.”

Motherhood Transformed Michelle Williams

Award-winning actress Michelle Williams is a single mom to 6-year-old Matilda, and she’s telling OK! Magazine how motherhood has transformed her.

“It’s wonderful. I love spending as much time as I can with Matilda and watching her grow and become such a beautiful, sweet little girl,” the talented star tells OK! “It’s an incredible experience and it’s totally transformed me as a woman.”

And a couple years after Matilda’s dad Heath Ledger passed in 2009, Michelle is finally in a better place. “It’s taken me a while to feel really good again and to think more freely and just be myself,” she muses. “I have so much joy in looking after Matilda that I don’t even worry that much about myself anyway. There’s a lot to be said for just going about things, working on good films, making lunches and going shopping with your child.”

Michelle Williams Calls Parenting “The Ultimate Creative Act”

Michelle Williams covers this month’s cover of Hobo magazine. And inside the pages, she opens up about raising 6-year-old daughter Matilda, her goals as an actress, and how she hopes to live outside Hollywood one day.

“I’m always trying to figure out what kind of life I want to live. What do I want to do? Where is the best place to be? How do I want to spend my time?”

“What situations optimize my parenting? Which really is the most important thing in my world. That’s the question that I’m asking,” she muses. “How do I live my life and work in a way that makes me the best parent I can be? I think it’s the ultimate creative act. If this doesn’t turn out well then there is no success or awards in the world that can make up for it. So I’m always wondering what that balance is, and where it is.”
