Matt Damon Hates Filming Shirtless Scenes

Matt Damon is a hard-working actor. He works hard on his skills and on his body, but we may never get to see those chiseled results.

“On the first Bourne movie, I was in the best shape of my life, and we purposely never did a shot of me with my shirt off,” the father of four tells Parade. “I try to stay away from the beefcake shots.”

And Damon certainly knows his appeal isn’t what it used to be.

“I was down by NYU getting a cup of coffee at Starbucks, and there were a bunch of college-age students working there. The girl at the counter said, ‘Oh, wow, I just loved you in The Departed.’ I said, ‘Thanks a lot.’ And she goes, ‘I know, I know, it was a long time ago.’ And I thought, well, there you go. Because to her, if she’s 19, it probably came out when she was 13 or 14, so it feels like a generation ago.”

Matt Damon Puts Family First

For many celebrities, it’s often hard to leave your house without being bombarded by the paparazzi. And those pesky photographers can often make one feel like a prisoner to the world. But Matt Damon says he is lucky to not be one of them.

“I have friends who are like prisoners. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, for instance. They can’t just go someplace. If they go for a walk, it turns into an international incident,” says Matt, who is dad to girls Alexia, 12, Isabella, 5, Gia, 2 1/2, and Stella, 9 months. “I’m really lucky, because I have the best of both worlds. I do the work that I love and need, but don’t need paramilitary troops to protect me when I walk out my front door.”

And Matt reveals that his life revolves more around family these days than it does with fame. “Ever since I found my wife [Luciana] and we had children, my whole life revolves around that. It gave my life a dramatic change in direction.”
