Mariah Carey Announces The Names Of Her Twins

After playing coy for a few days, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have announced the names of their twins, born on Saturday.  Their daughter will be called Monroe Cannon and their son -  Moroccan Scott Cannon.  They shared:

Their son is named Moroccan Scott Cannon. Scott is Nick’s middle name, as well as his grandmother’s maiden name.

The top tier of Mariah’s New York City apartment is called the Moroccan Room, because of the Moroccan-inspired decor. It’s also the place where Nick proposed to his wife, overlooking Manhattan!

Their daughter’s name is Monroe Cannon. Mariah’s rep says she does not have a middle name because Mariah herself does not have one. Monroe was named after Marilyn Monroe, who has been an inspiration to Mariah her whole life.

Mariah Carey Hints Babies’ Name Will Start With ‘M’

Mariah Carey is hinting that her recently born twins will both have names that start with the letter M.

“I wish I could personally thank all those around the world who continue 2 send congrats+prayers for #dembabies! they’re doing great,” Mariah wrote on Twitter.

“And they are the most incredible gifts we could ever have imagined (sic)!”

“So we r bout 2 reveal the actual names and b4 we tell em 2 our friends etc. both begin w/M’s!!!!”

So of course twitter fans all around the world started tweeting names that begin with M, but Mariah didn’t give any details.

Meanwhile, overly joyed husband Nick Cannon confirms his wife is “recovering really well” and he feels “blessed” by her an their two beautiful babies.

“I am so proud of her and I know she is so relieved and grateful this long-awaited moment is finally here!” he said.

“I honestly feel like there are no words to describe this experience.

“Being here with my wife and dembabies makes me realize God has blessed me with the three most beautiful things in the world.”

Mariah Carey And Nick Cannon Welcome Their Twins On Their Third Anniversary

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon couldn’t have planned this any better if they’d tried!  The couple welcomed their twins today, which is also their third anniversary!

“the baby girl was born first, weighing 5 lbs., 3 oz., and was 18 inches long; her brother was next, at 5 lbs. 6 oz., and was 19 inches.”

“Nick was very nervous and Mariah was completely calm. Mariah thought it was another soft labor and Nick was driving her to the hospital and she very calm and the music was blasting. When they walked into the hospital, [Nick] was going the wrong way and they nurse redirected them to go the maternity ward, and I said to her, ‘that’s right out of I Love Lucy,’ and she laughed.”

They aren’t sharing the babies’ names just yet.  But Nick did see this coming, he shared on The Talk this week:

“I’m not trying to be a psychic, but we renew our vows every year so … It’s probably going to be in the hospital this year. I can feel it . We got the minister coming in, so this gown will not be a wedding gown, but a hospital gown.”

Mariah Carey Relaxes Before Arrival Of Twins

Mariah Carey is taking it easy before her twins arrive because she knows she’s going to have her hands full!

So what better way to relax than at the Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes, Calif.  She had a little R&R looking out into the view of 102 lush oceanside acres and daily dolphin sightings.  She told Life & Style magazine.

“The setting is so indescribably beautiful,” Mariah said.

“As my fans know, I love the ocean, and I love dolphins. But I never dreamed I’d be sitting fireside in a copper tub watching schools of wild dolphins passing by throughout the day!”

Mariah Carey Has An Egg-cellent Easter

Mariah Carey, who still has another month to go in her pregnancy, shared this sweet tweet on Twitter.  She had her baby belly painted up like an Easter egg over the weekend.  She tweeted:

HAPPY EASTER! Ummm.. READY!!!!!!!!!!!! Done and done.

Mariah Carey Ponders Children’s Future In Their Nursery

Mariah Carey is loving the nursery she has built for her twin babies, who will soon be on their way.

Mariah sits in the nursery staring at the ceiling pondering what the children’s future will bring.  She said:

“I wanted to create a beautiful, tranquil, cozy environment for the babies. Everything matches, but pieces are individualized to celebrate the twins as separate entities.

“The ceiling has orangey-pink clouds in a blue sky with golden stars twinkling. It’s based on two songs I wrote that are fan favorites, ‘Underneath the Stars’ and ‘Close My Eyes’.

“Sometimes I just sit in the nursery and stare at the ceiling because I love it so much. To me, it symbolizes wanting my children to dream as big as possible and to let their imaginations be unbridled.”
