Gives New-Mom Advice & Shops for Crocs


Molly Sims and son Brooks are getting ready for Crocs International Comfort Day, September 28—celebrating the spread of comfort all over the world. The model and actress took Brooks to the Crocs store in SoHo. The new mom advised on losing baby weight: “Don’t worry…in the beginning,” she said. “It will come off.” But she also gave some tips: “Concentrate on what you’re putting on your food. If you have a salad, do not load up on the fruit, the nuts or the avocado.”

It can be overwhelming to juggle everything from weight loss, taking advice from other moms, and balancing your time, but Sims explained her strategy for getting by. “When I first had Brooks, I had so much advice, but I think you have got to trust your own instinct and just do the best you can,” she said. “Work hard, play hard, be with him as much as you can and then do what you have to do!”

Ali Landry’s Tips For Losing Baby Weight

Celebrity mom Ali Landry knows how it is to lose baby weight – tough and frustrating. But she’s reaching out and giving helpful tips on how to lose that baby weight fast!

She says:

So now the time has come to talk about the last great taboo regarding pregnancy – the excess baby weight and how to lose it.

These days it seems like everyone snaps back to their pre-pregnancy bodies in record time and it can be pretty intimidating. During my last pregnancy I gained 35lbs, and I only managed to lose the last 10lbs after I finished nursing when my daughter was 10 months old. This time around I gained 40lbs, of which I have lost 20 so I still have 20 more to go. First of all, let me tell you I have no get-fit-quick-trick. I don’t believe such a thing even exists; there is no magic pill or machine that is going to instantly dissolve the extra fat. In my experience, good old fashioned diet and exercise are the only “tricks” that work.

I’ve mentioned it before and I’ll say it again: drink lots of water. It helps you stay hydrated, feel full and keeps your metabolism going.

• Eating healthy and often is key. I eat three meals and two snacks every day. To satisfy my sweet tooth I eat frozen mangoes with agave syrup, and I also make a juice from beets, carrots, cucumbers and apples. There’s no need to deprive yourself, you just need to keep the calorie count in check. And don’t skip meals because it slows down your metabolism.

• Many women are scared to exercise too soon after giving birth, but doctors usually allow it after about 4 to 6 weeks. As soon as you get the go-ahead from your doctor, get moving! There’s no need to run a marathon or hit the gym for an hour every day, there’s plenty of little things you can do: walk around the block, do butt squeezes or toe raises while you do stuff around the house. You can even involve the baby in your routine! You can do lifts, curls and squats while holding him (or her). They love the movement and I’ll bet they’re happy to help mommy.

• Above all, be patient with yourself. Your body just went through a lot, and realistically it’s going to take a while for it to heal and get back to the way it used to look. Even if you don’t notice a huge difference right away, every little thing you do helps and eventually you’ll get your body back. In the meantime, just enjoy this time with your newborn and don’t worry too much about it.
