Is Katie Holmes Afraid Tom Cruise Will Send Suri To Scientology “Sea Org”

From all the media reports out there, it seems the consensus is that a large part of the reason Katie Holmes has filed for divorce from Tom Cruise has to do with Scientology.

According to reports, Tom was wanting to send Suri off to ‘Sea Org’, a “Scientology at Sea” military school of sorts.

The Sea Org ship “Freewinds” is where the highest levels of Scientology are taught and children as small as 5 years old are sent to live there (without parents).

According to TMZ, Tom is a big fan of the Sea Org and it was a sticking point in their marriage.

“The Sea Org has been often compared to a boot camp and several ex-Scientologists (including Oscar winner Paul Haggis) have been outspoken against its military-like conditions. According to the official Scientology website, members of Sea Org sign “a one-billion-year pledge to symbolize their eternal commitment to the religion and it is still signed by all members today. We’re told Katie felt the only way to save Suri from being shipped off to Sea Org was to file for divorce and seek sole legal custody.”

If the rumors are true, that seems quite scary. And apparently because the ship sails in international waters, it’s not governed by any U.S. laws, reportedly.

Update: Lawyers for the Scientology center reached out to TMZ to share that Suri was not a candidate for Sea Org, as it requires both parents’ permission and the child must be 16 years old.

Katie Holmes Is Seeking Sole Custody Of Her Daughter, Suri Cruise

Unfortunately, this looks like it’s going to be one messy and very public divorce between Katie Holmes and her soon-to-be ex-husband, Tom Cruise. According to insiders, Katie is seeking sole custody of the couple’s 6-year-old daughter Suri because some believe she doesn’t want her to be raised in the Church of Scientology.

A source close to the soon-to-be Mrs. Tom Cruise says that not only has she filed for sole custody of Suri, but she also is seeking primary residential custody. Katie’s paperwork makes no mention of the pair’s prenup, but indicates that she’s seeking a division of property and a “suitable amount” of child support, according to TMZ.

While I can definitely see why Katie has her daughter’s best interests at heart, let’s hope they are able to settle this peacefully and with very minimal mudslinging. What do you think? Connor Cruise Boards Helicopter Hours After Katie Holmes Files For Divorce From Tom Cruise

Just hours after Katie Holmes confirmed that she filed for divorce from Tom Cruise, her stepson Connor Cruise was spotted grabbing a ride on a helicopter. Connor has been in Iceland, where Tom is shooting his new movie.

Several media outlets have claimed that Tom was blindsided by the news of divorce. His rep shared:

“Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children. Please allow them their privacy to work this out.”

Some are speculating that things could get nasty as Katie has requested sole custody of their daughter, Suri. We hope that’s not the case and that they can settle this amicably for Suri’s sake.

After five years of marriage, Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise have separated! Katie’s lawyer confirmed the shocking news that she plans to divorce Tom.

“This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family. Katie’s primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.”

Katie and Tom share one child, daughter Suri, 6. Tom is also dad to Connor and Isabella from his marriage to Nicole Kidman.

How surprising! I thought these two would be together for a long time to come!

It looked like little Suri was shielding her baby doll from the paparazzi. It looks like this little girl is going to be grow up to be one protective mother, right?

Celebrity mom Katie Holmes was spotted taking her 6-year-old daughter Suri Cruise to a movie theater in New York City to see Disney’s latest princess movie, “Brave.” It looked like the two weren’t alone – Suri brought a few of her favorite stuffed animals with her, too.
