Says Paris Was Suffering

Paris Jackson Outside Her Mom's House

Katherine Jackson sat down with 60 Minutes Australia and opened up about Paris Jackson’s emotional troubles.  The grandmother shared that the family had no idea just how much Paris was struggling.

Katherine shared, “I guess she was suffering and we didn’t know it.”  She also admitted that Paris did indeed try to commit suicide.  Katherine also shared that Paris had help from a lifecoach prior to her attempt, because she was having such a hard time with her dad’s death – papering her room with only photos of Michael.

Katherine tearfully talked about losing her son, Michael, and how her family has tried to cope since.   She also shared that it’s difficult to raise his three children since the world is so different than when she raised her own ten children.

I really hope that Paris is getting the help she desperately needed.

Shares Her Feelings On Michael Jackson Making His Kids Wear Masks

Michael Jackson 1958-2009

When Michael Jackson became a father, he often made his kids, Prince, Paris and “Blanket“, wear masks when they were out in public.  Most people didn’t understand this strange behavior, but he did it try to protect their identities.  He wanted them to be able to do “normal kid” things and not be recognized.

Michael’s mother Katherine shared in a new interview why she chose not to carry on with the masks after Michael passed away.  “They were sheltered a lot when Michael raised them. I had thought about it and I said, ‘I am not going to raise them like that.’ I didn’t like the way it looked anyway, but Michael had a good reason. He kept their faces veiled so nobody would know what they looked like and they could play like normal kids. He was trying to protect them.”

What do you think?  Was it wise to have the kids wear masks for privacy? Do you think Katherine is doing a good job of keeping them away from the media?

Katherine Jackson Having A ‘Difficult Time’ Since Son’s Death

Michael Jackson’s mother Katherine “can’t stand” to look at Dr. Conrad Murray’s face as he battles charges of involuntary manslaughter, admitting she’s having a “difficult time” coping with the court cases stemming from her son’s 2009 death.

The Jackson family matriarch appeared on breakfast program Good Morning America on Tuesday (1/25) and revealed her struggle to sit through court proceedings in the run-up to Murray’s trial. The medic stands accused of administering the drug Propofol which killed the singer in June, 2009.

Murray pleaded not guilty to the charge on Tuesday (25Jan11) ahead of his trial on 28 March (11) – and Katherine Jackson insisted the aftermath of the singer’s death has proved to be a very tough journey.  Jackson said:

“It’s been a difficult time for me ever since my son passed. When I’m in that courtroom I can’t stand to look at that man (Murray)â¦ and I go because I love my son… I just feel I have to be there.”

In addition to Murray’s involuntary manslaughter case, Katherine is dealing with a copyright infringement lawsuit filed by the singer’s estate executors against her business partner, Howard Mann.  Her associate is accused of publishing a number of unauthorized photographs in new coffee table book, Never Can Say Goodbye, and the 80 year old is taking the litigation particularly personally:

“As far as the estate suing Howard Mann, my feeling is when they’re suing Howard Mann they’re suing meâ¦ because I authorised the book.”

As the court cases unfold, Jackson is also caring for her late son’s three children, Prince Michael, 13, Paris, 12, and eight-year-old Blanket.  But she insists she’s not having trouble raising the kids despite her advancing years:

“Michael’s children are good children, and he raised them out of love and understanding. I don’t have a hard time with them, because they know what, how their father had them raised, and their very respectful and also it’s a difference today.”

However, Katherine has one stern rule – she will not be allowing her grandchildren to follow in their father’s famous footsteps until they are older.  She adds,

“I wouldn’t let (them) go into business at this early of age, like Paris wants to be an actressâ¦ and I don’t think Michael would have let her. He talked about (how) he didn’t have a childhood, he wanted to be more… play more.”

Jackson’s Mom Begged Plastic Surgeon To Stop Working On Her Son’s Face

Michael Jackson’s mother was so concerned about her son’s obsession with plastic surgery she secretly met with his doctor and urged him to lie about nips and tucks.

Katherine Jackson admits she turned to the surgeon out of desperation after a stern chat with her superstar son had no effect.  In a frank TV chat with Oprah Winfrey, which aired in America on Monda (11/8), the Jackson family matriarch said,

“I hear that people get addicted to plastic surgery and I think that’s what happened to him. I had told him, ‘That’s enough. Why do you keep going?’

“I even talked to this plastic surgeon, saying, ‘If he comes in and he wants you to work on his nose, just tell him you did it… and don’t change it.'”

Katherine Jackson also revealed to Winfrey that her son’s admission he only had two nose jobs was a lie.  She revealed,

“He had more than two, but he was just embarrassed (to admit it)… (His nose was) too small, like a toothpick at one time.”
