Kate Hudson took her family to work this weekend. The actress was spotted on the set of a photoshoot along with her sister-in-law Erinn Bartlett and her boys, Ryder and Bing.
Erinn, who is expecting baby #3 with Kate’s brother Oliver Hudson, looked like she was helping Kate and the nanny with wrangling the boys as they played on set. There were other kids on the set as well, one of them looking like Erinn and Oliver’s oldest son. With all those boys around, I bet they’re excited that Oliver and Erinn are having a baby girl this time around.
I almost don’t recognize Ryder anymore with that buzz cut! He looks so grown up now.
Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy took advantage of the great weather yesterday and headed outdoors with the kids! Kate,Matt, Ryder and Bingham were photographed as they strolled through NYC together. They all look so laid back and relaxed, don’t they?
We haven’t seen a lot of Kate lately and that might be because she’s been hard at work on a few new projects. She’s got a TV movie coming out, “Clear History”, which co-stars some pretty big names (Jon Hamm, Eva Mendes). She’s also working on voicing a project called “Me and My Shadow” and will be starting two more movies after that! Kate’s a busy busy celebrity mom!
It looks like there might be wedding bells for this celebrity mom’s future after all! Hollywood actressKate Hudson opens up to the latest issue of Elle Magazine UK, where she talks about her career, her family, and those future wedding plans of hers. Here are some highlights of what she says:
On family life: “I’m a lot less a rock chick and a lot more about being a good mother, a good partner. I’m part of a family. That’s how we were brought up, how I bring my kids up. They are very blessed to live how they do but they are aware of that.”
On getting married: “We will get married. I do think it’s important but we have no plans. He [Ryder] wants a party. For me it’s not the legal part that is important, it’s what it means to the family.” On their romance, she said, ”[I]t was all very old-fashioned and proper and we went on lovely dates [after meeting at Coachella music festival]. And two months later I was pregnant.”
On finding out she was pregnant with Bing: “Well, yes [I was shocked], but I also thought: ‘This is going to be interesting. I knew it would take a strong man to deal with it. You know that with a relationship things can go either way when you have a child. When you get pregnant everything changes; you, your body. Everything becomes a big decision.”
On eating clean: “I am now [after Ryder's birth] a human calorie app. I’ve learnt about nutrition and how it works, and I eat incredibly well now…I don’t believe in diets, I think the whole concept should be banned.”
Celebrity mom and talented actress Kate Hudson sat down with Glamour for their April issue. Interviewed by her “The Reluctant Fundamentalist” director, Kate opens up about raising kids in Hollywood, how she stays in shape and more!
Mira Nair: We worked on The Reluctant Fundamentalist together, so: What are you reluctant about?
Kate Hudson: Not much! If I think about my life, I’m not reluctant about taking chances. I’m definitely not reluctant about relationships. [Laughs.]
MN: But do you trust people despite being a public person?
KH: I choose to. The reason I trust so much is that I don’t feel like I have anything to hide. If somebody betrays that trust, it could never be so bad, because I don’t keep any secrets. I’ve had friends who’ve lied to me, I’ve had friends who’ve done things behind my back, I’ve had people steal from me—and it doesn’t stop me from trusting. The only thing that gets me angry is with [people who invade the privacy of] the kids. It’s the only place where I sort of go, Is this worth it?
MN: But what’s nice about what we have is when you enter the set, the world of film, it becomes this real cocoon, very different from all the publicity. That’s the fun part.
KH: Well, that’s the work. There’s a misconception that if you come from famous parents [Hudson’s mom is Goldie Hawn, and her stepdad is Kurt Russell], you’re seeking fame for the sake of fame. I see it as the opposite: Growing up with parents who were in the spotlight—it was almost like, Wow, if I didn’t love to create characters, I would run as far away from fame as I could get. But I love performing.
MN: How did you get so svelte?
KH: Dancing, Pilates, and running after Bing.
MN: He’s walking?
KH: He’s sprinting! And he’s got a natural mullet, which I’m cutting soon. It’s growing only in the back, so we in the family say he takes after my Gogie—you know, Kurt [Russell]— because Kurt was a mullet guy in the eighties. Bing’s been singing too. He loves music.
MN: That is wonderful.
KH: And Ryder is the coolest cat—an amazing big brother, so patient and tolerant. Bing pulls his hair, and Ryder just laughs. He’s such a good person. I couldn’t be a prouder mommy.
MN: He is what you make him, you see? I think you only have one chance, really, to make a child’s life, and that’s what you’re doing.
KH: It’s funny you say that because I always remember my mom saying that there’s only one thing in life she refused to fail at: raising her children. It just shows you it’s very possible to do the thing that makes you happy and still raise a wonderful family.
MN: You make everything look so easy. What’s hard for you? What’s your Everest?
KH: I have always been fiery; I go after things. But what I learned from my mother is to step back and actually experience things that are happening. So for me, it’s about meditating. My Everest is to have that become a real part of my life.
