Jessica Simpson Is Still Working On Her Baby Weight, According To Friends

According to pop star Jessica Simpson, she knows that losing the 70 pounds that she gained during her pregnancy is going to be no walk in the park and understands that it’s a “long process.” Friends close to the fashion maven say that while Jessica is still working on shedding that baby weight, she’s not in a major hurry to lose it all over night. This is what we’re reading from People Magazine:

“She understands it’s a process,” a Simpson friend tells People, adding that the star is “working very hard and she’s excited.”

As for rumors that there’s a deadline for her to lose her post-baby bulge, a rep for the weight-loss company says that’s untrue.

“Weight Watchers is in it for the long haul,” says a spokesperson. “We’re with her 100 percent as she develops a whole new relationship with food and activity.”

Jessica Simpson Talks About “Fat” Pregnancy On Twitter

It looks like Jessica Simpson is all too aware of the controversy and comments that have been made surrounding her weight gain. The former chart topper recently took to her Twitter account where she made a reference to the “fat” jokes that have been told at her expense.

Jessica tweeted for her fans to pick up the latest edition of Elle with her on the cover on it because the issue would disappear from newsstands. She wrote:

“Last chance to see me ‘fat’ aka PREGNANT on the cover of Elle,” Simpson tweeted. “I loved this shoot, [and it’s] only on stands for a few more days!”

Good to see she still has a sense of humor about it!

Jessica Simpson Talks Weight Gain And Can’t Wait For Her Pregnancy To Be Over

Jessica Simpson is making it clear that she’s done with this pregnancy. The celebrity mama-to-be recently opened up about the baby weight she’s gained and how she’s ready to get her body back.

Jessica, who is expecting a girl with her fiancé Eric Johnson, told Hello! Magazine in an interview that she’s gained 40 pounds so far but is feeling so uncomfortable that she’s ready to get this pregnancy over with. She says:

“I had a great pregnancy. Eating and not having to worry too much about it has been fun. Taking a break from working out has definitely been fun. But I’m ready for it to be over. I’m ready to have my body back!”

While we’re sure it’s been fun for Jessica to forget about counting calories there’s no doubt that she’s ready to be a mom already. It’s almost over Jess – just one more month to go!
