‘The Office’ star Jenna Fischer stopped by the Rachael Ray Show to chat about her husband, Lee Kirk, and their son, Weston, and her new movie project!
Jenna says her husband is “so hands on” when it comes to helping with the baby:
He is so hands on, bless his heart. From the time the baby was born he will get up in the middle of the night and I would get up in the middle of the night to feed the baby and then he would take the baby and change it and put him back to sleep.
Jenna on how she met her husband:
So about 4 1/2 years ago, I met with a writer named Lee Kirk, and he pitched me the idea for a story, and I said “great, let’s make this movie.” It took us 4 1/2 years, and in the process of developing and getting the film off the ground we fell in love, and we got married, and now we have a 7 month-old, and now you can see the movie!
Jenna’s sees her actual child all the time:
I see my fictional children about once every 8 weeks, I see my actual child all the time, but this is my example of what being a new mom is like, I have this really pretty necklace today that I wanted to wear, and I didn’t have time to untangle it, because I was rushing out the door from changing him, and feeding him, and I thought, “well I’m not going to let this necklace win, I’m wearing it anyway.”
Jenna Fischer on her new movie “The Giant Mechanical Man”:
It’s the story of a silver-painted street performer, you know those guys who dress up all silver and then they’ll only move if you give them money, it’s the story of one of those men, and the woman who falls in love with him, and I play the woman. But I’m having a hard time, I get fired from my temp job, I get convicted from my apartment, I have to move in with my overbearing sister who wants Topher Grace, is in the movie, and he plays this self-help guru, he’s so great in the movie, he’s so good, so it’s a love story about these two kind of quirky outsiders.
