Joins The #BanBossy Campaign

ban bossy videoHave you heard about the #BanBossy campaign? It’s a campaign that encourages leadership skills in girls. The idea is that while boys are encouraged to be assertive, girls are criticized for it by being called “bossy.” The result is that by the time girls enter middle school, they’re much less likely to be interested in leadership.

Beyonce is one of the celebs who’s in the video below. Jennifer Garner and ‘Glee’ star Jane Lynch are in it too. Yet this isn’t limited to Hollywood. Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg is in the video, along with former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice, and a lot of other powerful women, too. Are you ready to join the #BanBossy campaign?

Jane Lynch’s Stepdaughter Keeps Her Ego In Check

Jane Lynch And Family Out For Lunch In Studio City

Actress and Glee star Jane Lynch is the proud stepmom of eleven-year-old daughter Haden Embry.  Jane has a little help from Haden in keeping her ego from getting too big.  Jane reveals that Haden is not impressed too much by her job on TV.

Jane explains, “She’s so unmoved by that stuff.  It’s funny what kids accept kind of fast. She’s not at all in awe of the fact that her mother is on TV.”

That’s not to say Haden doesn’t enjoy the show.  According to Jane she is a Gleek and does “love the show” and even used to come to the set often when she was younger.  “She hasn’t come in the past couple of seasons. She’s in school. . . I like her doing that. I prefer her going to school!”

That seems to be a common theme with celebrity kids.  I’ve read so many interviews where the celeb offspring admit they don’t ever watch their parents’ movies or old TV shows, etc.

Jane Lynch Soaks Up Quality Time With Step Daughter

Jane Lynch takes a walk with her step daughter Hayden Ryan-Embry in West Hollywood.

It’s nice to see parents spend time with their stepkids.  I don’t know personally, but I know enough that it can get a bit dicey at times. It’s a tough dynamic but it could also be great if people put the time, patience, and understanding into building the relationship.

You c rtainly can’t tell from a pap-shot, but I hope these are two people making it work.
