Marie Claire has launched a great new guide for those of us who could use a fashion refresher! Marie Claire’s Outfit 911: Fabulous Fixes for Every Fashion Emergency by Joyce Corrigan is handy little bible of fashion do’s and don’ts – covering every possible situation and occasion.
The book’s synopsis:
Filled with inspiring images of the most fashion-forward celebs, Marie Claire: Outfit 911 showcases time-tested tips from the magazine’s editors as well as the design world’s most astute gurus like Tim Gunn, Michael Kors, and Donna Karan. And the accessible, classic pieces are adaptable to a range of ages and budgets.
A few highlights include dressing for different types of interviews (from Google-type jobs to Wall Street all-business), the best pieces to carry you from day to night, dressing sassy but not trashy, and so much more! Each chapter covers a different situation – travel, interviews, date nights, special events, country style, city style, and more. The pictures are gorgeous, the outfits are fun and definitely high fashion, but you can find ways to tweak them and make them work for you – even if you aren’t a runway model.
The one thing I wish the book had included is where to find some of the pieces featured. They’re really just meant as an example to give you a basic idea and even though they’re most likely out of my price range, it’d be great to know some of the details/designer info so I’d know where to start looking for similar items.
Overall it’s a fun guide and refresher course for anyone looking to take their sense of style and turn it up a notch.
