‘CSI: Miami’ Star Emily Procter Is Cherishing Every Second Of Motherhood

New mom Emily Procter chats about baby weight, teaching her daughter the Oscar Meyer balogna song, and missing midnight feedings!

Emily shared that despite gaining 45 pounds during her pregnancy, she is no rush to lose the baby weight.

“I think, ‘For who?’ Not for your child. Your child’s not looking at you and going, ‘Mmm, I love a clavicle. Let me nestle into that.

If at six months I’m carrying a lot of extra weight, then I’m going to get drastic about it.”

She admits that she misses the quiet time she and her daughter Philippa (nickname Pippa) spent together in the middle of the night:

When she started sleeping through the night — and I know there are people out there who are going to want to throttle me — I missed the quality time that the two of us had in the middle of the night. I just felt like it was the two of us, alone in the world.”

She jokes about not knowing what songs to sing to her baby girl, so she just did the best she could:

“I couldn’t remember any songs when she was first born, so I started singing the Oscar Mayer bologna song,.  I told him, ‘Look, there’s spelling in the song. I think that’s wonderful.’ And bologna is a difficult word to spell!”

Emily Procter Welcomes A Baby Girl

CSI: Miami star Emily Procter is a first-time-mum after giving birth to a baby girl.

The actress and her musician boyfriend, Paul Bryan, welcomed daughter Pippa last month (Dec10).  Procter announced the happy news last week as she made her return to work on the hit TV show – on the same day her co-star Adam Rodriguez took up directing duties for the first time.

She tells TVGuide.com,

“In a way, it fits that my first day back is (Rodriguez’s) first time directing. Because I felt like he genuinely wanted me to have a healthy baby. He wanted me to be happy, and I wish the same for him. I think that’s what you get after nine years together. It’s that genuine want for each other to be happy.”

Emily Procter Creates Some Pretty Good Dreamin’

In the November issue of Pregnancy, Emily Procter revealed that finding out that she was expecting her first child with boyfriend, musician Paul Bryan, was a little bit “mystical” or even a little “un-CSI-ish.” The CSI: Miami actress shares:

“I had a dream and there was this old woman and she came to me and she said, ‘Sweetie, you’re pregnant.’”

Man, can this old woman pick the lotto numbers for the next Mega Millions?:

Soon after the dream, Emily says “I got up in the middle of the night and took a pregnancy test, and it was true!” she says.

Even though she loves being pregnant, Procter is anxiously planning for baby, as most of us certainly do (I know we did):

“I think I’m over-preparing,” she laughs. “I have us signed up for baby CPR, if we’ve done our homework then no matter what life throws at us, we’ll be prepared.”

Emily Procter Sad That It's Almost Time To Give Birth

CSI Miami star Emily Procter LOVES being pregnant.

“I started crying the other day just thinking that the baby is going to leave me soon!” says Procter about her first child — she’s keeping the sex a secret — with her boyfriend, musician Paul Bryan.

“You have this relationship with this person in your belly and it’s really amazing.”

Part of that relationship is being able to feel her baby move.

“It’s really fun at night, because I can see the baby kicking,” says Procter, who is the new face for Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula stretch mark products.

“I can feel the knee or the foot. The baby is starting to get heavy, and it’s a really incredible feeling. I’m so grateful I get to experience this.”

It’s a good thing Procter is the face for Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula stretch mark products because she doesn’t have a stretch mark on her!

“There’s not a stretch mark!” says Procter, who uses Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Tummy Butter on her belly in the morning and the Skin Therapy Oil at night.

Not only is her skin in great shape, but so is her body.  The actress only gained 20 lbs. and keeps active by walking, swimming, and taking a hip hop dance once a week.

“It’s hilarious!” she says about her dance class. “But I feel really good. I would love to tell you that I don’t worry about losing the weight after the baby is born, but I do try to think before I eat. The first cookie? Definitely! But I try to think about if I really want to do the extra sit-ups before I eat the second one.”

The baby is due in December – so what have her and beau Bryan decided on as a name?

“We’re naming it after one of my grandparents,” she says.

Procter may be calm now, but she’s starting to get the jitters as time comes closer to giving birth.

“It’s one of those things where I’m trying not to be nervous and see what happens,” says Procter.

“I was leaving work the other day and as I was saying goodbye to [CSI: Miami costar] Eva LaRue, she said, ‘Emily, you’re having a baby!’ And all of a sudden it hit me and yes, I got nervous! So I went home and signed up for CPR! But I try not to get stressed about it. I’m probably going to have this experience only once, so I’m just so thankful.”

"CSI: Miami" Star Emily Procter Reveals Most-Asked Pregnancy Question

Emily Procter, who is six months pregnant with her first child, is having a hard time convincing people that she isn’t having twins.

“The most common question I get is, ‘Are you having twins?’ and when I say no they’re like, ‘Are you sure?’ “

“The other one I get is, ‘Is your due date wrong?’ But no, I still have three months.”

The “CSI: Miami” star and her boyfriend, musician Paul Bryan, already know the baby’s sex and have a name picked out, but are keeping the info private.
She also shared that although she’s having cravings, they are healthy ones!

“No pickles and ice cream,” she said. “Fruit. Lots and lots of fruit. Lemon ice cream, lemonade, lemon anything.”

Congrats to the parents-to-be!
