Product Recall: Pre-Lit Artificial Christmas Trees By Seasonal Specialities

If you bought your artificial tree at the local Menard’s store then you’ll want to read about this product recall!  Nearly 2,000 pre-lit trees are being recalled for potential fire, burn and shock hazards.  The electrical components of the tree’s light strings can overheat and melt, posing fire, burn, and shock hazards to consumers.

The tress in question are the Twinkling Pine pre-lit artificial Christmas trees sold under the Enchanted Forrest brand. The trees stand 7 ½ feet tall. They have 400 champagne-colored, slow-twinkling LED lights and a green metal stand. Model number 287-1261.

The trees were sold exclusively at Menard’s from September 2013 – November 2013 and sold for $300.

Menards has received two reports of the tree’s light strings overheating, melting or smoking, but no injuries have been reported.
