Cher Defends Chaz Bono’s Decision To Do ‘Dancing With the Stars’

Since the announcement of Chaz Bono’s involvement with Dancing With the Stars, a lot of people have been giving flack to ABC on their decision to include the transgender child of Cher on this season of the hit reality series. But now, Cher is defending Chaz’s decision to take part in the DWTS.

“Chaz is being viciously attacked on blogs and message boards about being on DWTS! This is still America right? It took guts to it,” she wrote on twitter. “I support him no matter what he chooses to do. . .It took courage to do DWTS! Thank God Chaz has an unlimited supply.”

She continued, “Mothers don’t stop getting angry with stupid bigots who f— with their children!”

Chaz Bono Never Doubted Mother’s Love

Cher’s son, Chaz Bono, never doubted how much his mother loves him while he struggled with adapting to his new identity.

“She has this personality of being so kind of cool about stuff and progressive but people forget that she’s a parent,” Chaz said.

“The truth is a lot of parents never speak to their transgendered kids again. That’s not the case in my family. There’s no doubt about my mother’s love for me.”

Part of Chaz’s struggle was re-learning how to be with his partner Jennifer Elias.

“We had to really almost re-learn how to communicate and how to be around each other,” he said.

“Things had changed. Just me saying the same thing that I would have before with a deeper voice and more of a presence.”

“Suddenly things didn’t mean the same thing to her. And so we really had to, you know, adjust our – how we did things and relearn how to be together.”

“It was really hard,” Jennifer added.

Cher Holds Small Screening For Documentary ‘Becoming Chaz’

Cher held a small screening of the upcoming documentary Becoming Chaz at her home over the weekend, according to People magazine.

“I admire my son Chaz’s courage for sharing his personal journey,” Cher said.

“Most important to me is that he is very happy. That’s what I care about the most. He has my love and support.”

And I admire Cher for being supporting and loving to her once daughter and now son.  I’m sure it hasn’t been an easy journey for either of them, but the fact that they both found love and peace in the end is admirable.

Another Movie Premiere Night For Celebrity Parents

Celebrity parents are busy, busy, busy in these weeks leading up to Christmas.  Several of them have big films to promote before they get to enjoy their holidays.

Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp have been everywhere attending premieres of ‘The Tourist‘.  In just the past few days they’ve hit Madrid, Berlin, and Rome.  I’m sure they’re looking forward to taking a break to spend some down time with their families over Christmas.

Jessica Alba and husband Cash Warren were on the red carpet for the premiere of “Little Fockers“.   Jessica is playing a pharmaceutical rep in this third installment of the comedy starring Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro.

Christina Aguilera, Cam Gigandet, Cher, and Kristen Bell are also over in Europe promoting “Burlesque“.   Last night they were in Berlin, Germany.  Looks like it was pretty cold and windy!

Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, and Johnny Depp were over in Germany to attend the Berlin premiere of “The Tourist“.  Johnny and Angelina must be pretty excited to both be nominated for a Golden Globe for their performances in the film.

Christina Aguilera, Cher, Cam Gigandet, and Kristen Bell attended a photocall for their film “Burlesque” at the Crazy Horse in Paris.  That means we should be seeing the red carpet photos from the premiere pop up in the next few hours. Have you seen the movie yet?
