Rep: Amy Winehouse Was Not Adopting

After Amy Winehouse’s untimely passing, details of her life have begun to seep through the cracks including a claim that Winehouse was preparing to adopt a 10-year-old girl. But according to her rep, this simply is not true.

A rep for the late singer tells Us Weekly “she was not in the process of legally adopting anyone.”

“Amy was already my mother,” Dannika Augustine, 10, told British paper The Daily Mirror. “I would call her Mum. And she would call me her daughter.”

“Amy isn’t around to say what she meant and you can’t go after this poor girl,” adds an insider close to the star. “But there were definitely no official adoption plans.”

UPDATED: Amy Winehouse Planned To Adopt 10-Year-Old Girl

UPDATE: Amy’s rep says this story is completely untrue.

Before Amy Winehouse’s untimely demise last Saturday (July 23), the singer was said to have been moving forward with the adoption of a 10-year-old girl.

“Amy was already my mother,” Dannika Augustine, 10, told British paper The Daily Mirror. Winehouse met little Dannika during a 2009 trip to St. Lucia.

“I would call her Mum,” Dannika said, “And she would call me her daughter. She took care of me, and we had fun together. I loved her, and she loved me.”

Despite Amy’s many addictions, Dannika’s family was all for the adoption. “Amy loved Dannika with all her heart,” Dannika’s grandmother Marjorie Lambert told the Mirror. “I don’t know why Amy took to Dannika above all the other children on the island, but from the moment they met, they were inseparable. They would spend all day playing, horse-riding and walking up and down the beach hand in hand.”

“I thanked Amy for taking care of my daughter, and she said, ‘Dannika is taking care of me. I couldn’t live without her,’ ” Dannika’s parent Vid Augustine said. “I knew [Winehouse] could give my daughter a wonderful life.”

Amy Winehouse’s Parents Grieve Her Loss

Singer Amy Winehouse’s parents visited with mourners outside her Camden Square home in London Monday (July 25).

“I can’t tell you what this means to us. It really is making this a lot easier for us,” her father Mitch said. “We’re devastated and I’m speechless, but thanks for coming.”

Mitch and Janis examined the flowers, candles, vodka bottles, cigarettes, flags, wine glasses, drawings and handwritten cards left by the late singer’s fans.

Babies For Amy Winehouse By End Of Year?

Amy Winehouse is planning and hoping to get pregnant this year.

The singer who has seemed to turn her life around – after battling  drug addiction and alcoholism – has been obsessing over getting pregnant with her boyfriend Reg Traviss within the next year.

“Amy’s obsessed with having children. It’s all she’s talking about right now. She is desperate to have a baby within the next year,” a source told Britain’s Reveal magazine.

“Amy is doing everything she can to have kids. Because of the drugs and drinking, her body would not have been able to handle a baby. Now she’s on the road to recovery and is turning things around.”

The motivation for a family may be brewing after Amy found out that her ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, is having a baby with his girlfriend, Sarah Aspin, in May.

That must sting below the belt a bit.

“She was devastated when she found out, and it made her even more determined to have her baby,” said the source.

Babies On The Brain For Amy Winehouse

Oh boy, Amy Winehouse is thinking about having children! Thankfully the 27-year-old isn’t ready to have children just yet.

The singer who seems to have reunited with her film director boyfriend Reg Traviss, says she’s starting to think of having a child, but not planning on taking action on the thought just yet.

“I’m of the age when you start thinking about it — not seriously, but you start thinking about having kids,” she told Britain’s Glamour magazine. “Although I’m not going to be getting pregnant in the next nine months!”

The reason Amy maybe feeling a bit motherly is because she’s been spending time with her godchildren.

“I recently watched Toy Story 3 with my godson Theo, who’s five,” she said. “It was fun. But right now I’m happy to be the godmum or the fun auntie.”

Hopefully Amy’s act is fully in tact before settling down to be a mom. The star has at least expressed her feelings of settling down with a “normal guy.” Let’s hope that “normal guy” isn’t into anything as fun as Amy…if you get my drift.

“She just really wants to find a normal guy to settle down with and have a baby,” a source said.

“She’d be more than happy to go out with someone away from the limelight – she is just fed up of being alone. She’d date a builder or painter and decorator, someone who’s kind and funny.”
