Founded by concerned parents with a child that has allergies, the AllerblingTM wristband is a unique medical ID bracelet, which is customizable by you, at any time, based on your child’s changing food allergic conditions.
Founders Hsinhan and Qunli Wu had there son Derek tested for allergies after little Derek’s projectile vomiting of cow’s milk and a skin rash after eating eggs and certain snacks. After a barrage of tests, it was found that Derek was allergic to eggs and peanuts, among other things. After doing some research, they learned that a peanut allergy is one of the most severe food allergies. From that moment on, they examined every label on every food package and trained Derek to ask if food given to him contained peanuts.
The EpiPen became a necessary accomplice. There were many big questions that would have to be answered. Could we find a preschool that cared or were food allergy aware? What if there was a substitute teacher? Could he ever go to a friend’s house for a playdate? To birthday parties? To the play ground? When we traveled away from home. After some brainstorming, they came up with a solution!
Allerbling was born!
Allerbling is a visual educational tool and a conversation piece that has the potential to save children’s lives by raising awareness of a child’s food allergies. Allerbling is cute and approachable, so kids will want to wear it. Yet it is clearly marked as a medical product for children’s caregivers. It displays the iconic symbols of the food products that are risky to the children, so their teachers and caregivers can be constantly reminded at a glance. We believe the Allerbling wristband will help young children, ages three and up; as they learn to read and talk about the ingredients in the food they eat; and what is not safe for them. It is a product that reduces children’s health risk and that is no child’s play!
This is so amazingly perfect. Make it known your child has allergies but make it look great so they don’t feel funny about it! They probably will even love wearing it, like my daughter does!! It’s a great idea that’s a long time coming with more and more children seemingly having allergies. I can’t say enough about the design and the overall thought and consideration that went into this.
I’m sure you have questions…and they have answers! Makes a lot of sense once you take a look at it.
I think all parents that have children with allergies can appreciate this and really should consider giving it a shot. As parents, we want our children to be safe. When your child is in school, on playdates, in summer camp, or just hanging out at the playground, Allerbling can be your silent partner that informs and reminds others about your children’s food allergic condition.
AllerblingTM… raising awareness of children’s food allergies…one wrist at a time.
