Product Recall: Powell Company Recalls Anywhere Lounger Bean Bag Chairs

recall-bean-bag-chairs1

Approximately six thousand bean bag chairs are being recalled by Powell Company.  The Anywhere Lounger Bean Bag Chair is being recalled for suffocation and strangulation hazards.

From the CPSC:

Bean bag chairs without a permanent zipper closure allow young children to unzip, ingest or inhale the small beads inside of the bean bag chair, posing a suffocation and strangulation hazard.

Customers should take the lounger away from young children and inspect to see if the exterior zipper can be opened.  If it can be opened, contact  Powell Company to receive a free Safety Enhancement Repair Kit.

The bags were sold at furniture stores nationwide including W.S. Badcock, Value City Furniture,  and online at www.Groupon.com from June 2012 to February 2013, retailing around $100.

Contact the company:  (800) 622-4456 or online: www.powellcompany.com.

JAIME KING
Expectant Mom Glows At The CW Upfront Presentations

The CW Network's 2013 Upfront

Pregnant Hart of Dixie star Jaime King showed off her fashionable baby bump in NYC.  Jaime, who announced her exciting baby news earlier this month, was looking chic in this multicolored print dress at the CW Upfront presentations.

Jaime and her husband Kyle Newman will be parents for the first time. So far there’s no word on whether her pregnancy will be written into the show.

I’m really looking forward to watching Jaime’s maternity style!

ALI LARTER
Spent Her Post-Baby Time Creating A Cookbook!

FFN_Larter_Ali_OsvaldoFF_031613_51039045-BorderMaker

Actress Ali Larter is finally revealing how she’s been spending her time since the birth of her son, Theodore, 2.  Aside from the busy job of being a mom, Ali has been creating a cookbook and lifestyle guide which is now ready for launch!  Ali is rolling out “Kitchen Revelry: a Year of Festive Menus From My Home To Yours”.

“After my son was born, I realized how much time I spend on set acting and how much I love that, but when I’m not on set, I’m usually throwing dinner parties or cooking and entertaining in some way. So I thought you know what, maybe I’ll try to put a book together, that sounds like kind of a fun thing to do in my off-time.”

Ali says she gets Theodore involved in the  taste testing, “Start out with things that you love. At this point, I try to feed my son what we eat for dinner and expose him to really interesting, different foods. And if he doesn’t like it, it’s fine, it’s more about trying and thinking of food as a fun adventure.”

Product Recall: Zulily Recalls Deezo Children’s Hooded Sweatshirts with Drawstrings

deezo-zulily-recall2

Zulily announced that it is recalling approximately 520 children’s hooded sweatshirts by Deezo for a potential drawstring strangulation risk.

The sweatshirts and jackets have drawstrings through the hood which pose a strangulation hazard to young children. In February 1996, CPSC issued guidelines about drawstrings in children’s upper outerwear. In 1997, those guidelines were incorporated into a voluntary standard. Then, in July 2011, based on the guidelines and voluntary standard, CPSC issued a federal regulation. CPSC’s actions demonstrate a commitment to help prevent children from strangling or getting entangled on neck and waist drawstrings in upper outerwear, such as jackets and sweatshirts.

The sweatshirts sold between August of 2012 and March 2013 and retailed for $20-50.  No injuries have been reported.

Zulily is suggesting that you either remove the drawstrings or return the items to them for a full refund.   Customers can contact them at (877) 779-5615 or online at www.zulily.com.
