Jim Carrey Says He Still Loves Jenny McCarthy’s Son, Evan

Jim Carrey says that despite not having contact with his ex-girlfriend’s 10-year-old autistic son Evan, he still loves and cares for him deeply. After Jenny McCarthy revealed that her son is in therapy because he misses having Jim around and asks about him “on a weekly basis,” Jim explains that while he wishes things were different, he feels it would be best if he stayed out of Evan’s life right now to avoid confusion. He tells Us Weekly:

“I will always do what I believe is in the best interest of Evan’s well being,” the actor says. “It’s unfortunate that Evan’s privacy is not being considered. I love Evan very much and will miss him always.”

A source close to Jim even adds:

“[Jenny] never reached out directly to him, so that’s a bit of a stretch for her to say,” the source tells Us. Still, the insider admits “Sometimes it’s really too painful to still be involved with an ex’s child’s life, but it doesn’t mean he doesn’t care about [Evan] or love him.”
