After having caused controversy by uploading a video of her pre-chewing her son’s food in her mouth on YouTube, celebrity mom Alicia Silverstone is now saying that she doesn’t find anything wrong with chewing Baby Bear’s food before feeding it to him mouth-to-mouth and even calls the act “adorable” and “completely normal.”
Alicia defended her actions, stating that mothers pre-chewing their children’s food is something that’s been done for thousands of years and that it is a natural way to feed babies.
Alicia says in an interview:
“It’s just a thing that has been going on for thousands of years and I didn’t think I was inventing anything but in our culture…,” she said. ”Every time my husband goes to the YMCA some guy comes over and says, ‘That’s how we do it in the south!’ Between him getting those great comments and me knowing in my gut it’s natural and lovely, I really wasn’t trying to tell anybody what to do.”
