Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are celebrating eight years of marriage today! They met backstage at a Coldplay concert in 2002 and were married on December 5th, 2003 – just days after announcing they were expecting their first child together.
They reportedly tied the knot at a hotel without any friends or family being invited to the nuptials. They then honeymooned in Mexico.
Gwyneth and Chris are pretty tight-lipped about their relationship, but Gwyneth shared recently that marriage is hard work for everyone:
“We go through periods that aren’t all rosy. I always say, life is long and you never know what’s going to happen. If, God forbid, we were ever not to be together, I respect him so much as the father of my children. Like, I made such a good choice. He’s such a good dad. You can never be relaxed or smug and think, ‘I’ve got this thing.’ That’s also part of it — keeping yourself on your toes. I’m not going to take this for granted.”
The celebrity couple share two kids – Apple, 7, and Moses, 5.
