Dad-to-be Jay-Z shared that as his baby’s due date comes closer, it has him reflecting on his own childhood. Jay-Z has shared before that his own dad left when he was young, and he hopes that his new bundle of joy will have an intact-family:
“It makes me a little paranoid because no matter what, I don’t think any person, or any male, goes into a relationship thinking that they’re going to leave or wouldn’t be there. I think the circumstances a lot of times dictates things, right?”
He says that he’s pretty confident in his ability to stick things out as a father, and that he’s nothing like his own dad:
“I’m just a different kind of guy. I’m a highly principled person.”
I come from a real place where you had to be a highly principled person. So, I’m pretty confident that I’ll figure it out.”
