Actress Kate Hudson, who is expecting a child with rocker Matt Bellamy, shares that she was looking for a more “grown up” love this time around.
“I was looking for a different kind of love because all of a sudden my child became my priority. Then you have to balance out the relationship.”
“Respect, honesty, a full partnership, compromise – all the great stuff. I think that’s what makes love last.
“I’m not a psychologist, but for me [love] became more adult and I wasn’t looking for the passionate crazy love. The things that I wanted in a partnership were different to when I was younger and didn’t have children.”
She says that the great relationship she has with ex-husband Chris Robinson, father of her son Ryder, 7, also takes work:
“My ex – it’s as much work as the marriage [was]! He’s got his family who are lovely and it’s more about timing and scheduling. That becomes the focus.”
