I’m not sure if you are familiar with the concept of a balance bike. I’d never heard of it until I was told about the YBIKE. It’s actually pretty slick, I must admit. It’s basically a toddler-sized bike (maybe 2-4, or 2-5 year olds) with no pedals.
YBIKE is a balance bike but is different from others on the market. It’s a bit more more stable and can stand independently (I think because the rear has two tires set right next to each other). It can also be used indoors or outdoors. The thing I think I liked most about it was that it kinda looks like a “chopper,” like a Harley. It’s a nice look and it seems to ride nicely. The kids get exposure to the balancing act that would be required to ride a “real” bike. I think it may even be a little bit more valuable than training wheels in a way…they really need to stay on the thing (we had more than a couple of wipe outs…but all survived).
I think this was a fitting song, no?
At $79.99 MSRP, it’s one of the less expensive balance bikes which is great for budget-minded gift giving. You can check out YBIKE at their website (ybikeusa.com/) and at the following:
