Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt dazzle on the red carpet at the world premiere of “The Tourist” at the Ziegfield Theater in New York. I wonder how good this will be, though it’s tough to beat the star studded cast including Jolie, Johnny Depp, and Paul Bettany.
By the way, I love the Ziegfeld…it’s old school and opulent, a grand affair. It’s ugly on the outside, but great on the inside. The theatre features 1,131 seats: 825 seats in the front section and 306 seats in the raised balcony section in the rear. The interior is decorated with red carpeting and gold trim. I would say it’s the last movie “palace” still showing films in Manhattan and having been built in 1969 it’s one of the last real movie palaces built in Amerca. Thank goodness for these premieres or it would be condos by now!
