Having a child of her own with husband Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen now looks at her mom with admiration.
Motherhood is no easy task, and Gisele has a new found respect for her mom Vânia, who raised six children in a tiny farming town in southern Brazil.
“My mother is a hero. I have never appreciated my mother more. I was like, ‘Mom, you are my hero. How did you raise six kids in the countryside?’” Gisele said.
“My mother worked all the time, too. The neighbors all helped. With all the neighbors in my town, it was like a big happy family; that doesn’t really exist anymore. People have forgotten to help each other, and that it’s all about community. You can’t live in a bubble.”
Being a model, Gisele certainly isn’t living in a small farming town – she’s often traveling for photo shoots and is grateful that she’s able to take her son, Benjamin, everywhere she goes.
“I am so lucky that I can bring him everywhere,” she said. “I don’t do anything without him. The maximum he has been without me in his life is three hours.”
