Katie Holmes Defends Suri's High Heels

Katie Holmes doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with dressing her 3-year-old daughter Suri in high heels.

“Like every little girl, she loves my high heels,” she told Access Hollywood.

After Suri was spotted wearing high heels on multiple occasions, critics complained that the footwear could be detrimental to her physical development. “A common side effect of adults wearing heels too often is the tightening or shortening of the Achilles tendon,” New York podiatrist Dr. Oliver Zong told Fox News.

Katie, 30, insists that Suri’s heels are supportive.

“They are actually ballroom dancing shoes for kids,” she told Access. “I found them for her and she loves them.”

Suri also “loves dancing and singing and she’s just a joy,” Katie told Extra. “She loves it all.”

Katie said they are all gearing up for a “big family Christmas” in Los Angeles this year. “I love Christmas,” Katie said. “It’s my favorite.”

Hmm… at least she has on shoes in the winter. The same can’t be said the majority of her life for a coat.

From heels to no coat, what next. If she want to drive a real car instead of a Barbie jeep will she get to do that too.

  3. the larch says

this is just ridiculous. it’s OK for a little girl to wear high heels if she’s just playing dress up, but this is clearly not a game. heels give an adult pain after wearing them for too long, let alone a kid whose bones are a long way from even having completed their growth!

  4. Rose says

I don’t agree with letting a three year old wear heels, but messed up feet are going to be the least of that child’s problems.

  5. Niloofar says

What the heck is Katie thinking? Absolutely ridiculous! There are many, many years ahead when she grows up for her to wear heels if she chooses…They treat Suri like a mini adult!

    “She loves it all.” !!!!!

Of course she does! She’s her mother’s (Everything is Amazing!) daughter.

    Blech. So phony.

And besides, dancing shoes are for WHEN you’re DANCING.
