OK Magazine Suggests That Britney May Have Traded Her Children For Fame

Who knows if there is any real truth to this story, but OK magazine is reporting the following:

She has a #1 album, recently entertained audiences on Good Morning America and shared the stage with Madonna. But with the March 3 launch of her concert tour in New Orleans, Britney Spears is hoping to regain much more: to fully reclaim the adulation and fame she had exactly 10 years ago, when her controversial single “Baby One More Time” shot to the top of the charts on Jan. 30, 1999.

But it’s no secret that, as she starts to climb back to the top, there are sacrifices she’s had to make along the way — specifically, spending less time with her two adorable sons, Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2.

Now, OK! has learned exclusivly the extraordinary price the singer is paying for her comeback, voluntarily giving up the fight to regain custody of her boys in exchange for fame.

Last fall, as her upcoming concert tour was being organized, Brit’s camp discovered that because of the star’s history, they could not purchase insurance to cover her tour unless she was still under the conservatorship of her father Jamie Spears. Until that point, the plan was for the conservatorship to be lifted on Dec. 31, followed by Britney, 27, heading to family court with a petition to regain custody of Preston and Jayden.

But an insider tells OK!, “The insurance situation changed everything.”

And so, on Oct. 28, the singer agreed to indefinitely accept her father as her conservator – a decision which meant she would still legally be considered a child. No judge would give her custody of her kids, nor would her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, agree to it.

“Whether it was her decision or whether she was pressured into it, Britney’s deal with the devil put the tour ahead of the kids,” the insider tells OK!.

ok everybody can agree that brit has made some bad mistakes. but i think she loves her kids and they should not have called her a bad mother. one day her kids are going to be so hurt by all of this. but i feel sorry for them cause one day they will have to go to school and kids can be so hateful.

  2. lila says

Well said,Dee. Without her father’s intervention and conservatorship she may not even have lived to see her kids again. She was spiraling downhill fast.

Now she has her life and career back on track, and her kids , who are still a part of her life have a healthier mom and a brighter future.

  3. becca says

I declair,Dee.Thanks to her father at least, she listened.
But,where is her mom during her delimas? Is she still very busy publishing her book on parenting?
She is their mom.who was there before the dad was even mentioned, now she is doing her own spotlight search.Glad the dad is close by when needed.

  4. Dee says

Well, maybe they are better off if she has some mental issues. At least she is in their lives in some capacity, and her father is keeping her stable and on track. Better then the way things were!

  5. becca says

She should turned her life around the very first time she knew that she was mentally ill.Maybe she doesn’t have to lost her boys to Kevin who party a lot.CLUB,GAMBLING PLACE.They both are the same.
    It is an absolute rubbish.
She should held her self together, she should concentrate on those boys.
She preferred to be in starbucks all the time or gas station.
Who needed all these everyday, while you are lossing your kids.CRAP with the capital C.
She will succeed though, she’ll be back on top of everything.

  6. anon says

Yes,indeed,Britney’s been through enough.Though, she still doesn’t have full custody of her boys.So it says it all. When her boys are not fully with her,she turned her life back around for her career. It is ashamed.
To me,even she is normally fit as of now,her boys are still not with her.I will not be satisfied unless my children are with me 24/7.I’m glad I don’t have the celebs problem.I’m very lucky. My children are my treasures. The world can have it all but not my children.I live for my children.
And for the record, she liked to criticized someone’s clothing but yet she can’t even put on her underwear.
    What a crook,I must say.
Yes she’ll be back on top,but as she succeeds,is she content with her life?NO,NO,NO.
Because of her stupidity, the boys are not totally with her.she has to share custody. She did not fight for them at all,no matter what people say.

  7. Lauren says

How do they expect Britney to recover and get her life back together when they keep skewering her in the press. Back off and leave her alone. She’s been through enough.

  8. Tess says

This is just a nasty spin on what may be a reality. Although I don’t believe for a second that she sacrificed those boys in any way to be famous, it is a reality that she cannot regain full custody under the conservatorship. However, she still gets her boys all the time, including overnights, and has reinforcement and security to lean on while she gets herself together. Agreeing tot he conservatorship does not mean she is choosing career over her children, but that she understands that she needs her family’s support to be healthy.

  9. yayaya says

    O.K! magazine is right!!!

all of the celebs are like britney , they even sell their kids for become more famous!!

  10. RnN says

I don’t believe that. people dont have any respect for celebrities. they just print lies about them to sell more magazines.

  11. sed says

the people who print that have really no respect! of course it’s not a surprise from those mags but when it comes to kids they should just be a little more respectful.
i’m 100% sure there is no truth in the “i give my kids away to be famous” part.
