Jools Oliver On Desperately Seeking Pregnancy & Jamie's Odd Method To Conceive A Son

Days after the announcement of her pregnancy, Jools Oliver has spoken in an interview of her struggle to conceive her third baby. The wife of TV chef Jamie, Jools is already mother to Poppy, 6, and Daisy, 5. In an interview with Grazia magazine she shares how she followed her husband around the country in order to increase their chances.

“I was getting trains and I was knackered and thinking: ‘All this just to do the do,’” she said. The couple have always spoken of their desire for a large family however, and were keen to expand their family.
Jools admitted that the baby was conceived with the help of fertility drug Clomid and says she was just days away from trying IVF again. “This time I have to take 100mg [Clomid] and it’s such a powerful drug that I felt pretty rough. I was dreading every month. I knew I could only take it for three before I’d need to move on to IVF.” Jools said she suffered several side effects as a result. “I got dizziness and funny vision and moody and spots, everything you don’t want as a woman, really. And it wasn’t great having children [to look after] when you’re that hormonal,” she added. Jools, 33, who says she is due on April Fools day, has always had difficulty conceiving as she suffers from polycystic ovaries. The couple’s first daughter was born after IVF, but their second child was conceived naturally. She admitted feeling frustrated after taking several pregnancy tests and said she could barely believe it when she finally got a positive result. “The line was so faint that  I convinced myself it couldn’t it wasn’t true… I still didn’t believe it so I kept drinking water and doing more tests. It got to 4am and I’d got four positive results, so I thought, it must be fine!”

The ex-model said that although this is her third pregnancy, she feels like a first-time mom again. “I still got up in the morning and said to him [Jamie], ‘I haven’t slept, I can’t believe I’ve got something inside of me!’” She added, “That feeling of another life happening…it feels more weird this time.” She also admitted that she is hoping for a baby girl and would like more children in the future. “If I’m really honest, I’d like another girl. If Jamie could be really honest he’d say a boy. People reckon we shouldn’t say that, but I don’t know what the big deal is. I don’t think there is any harm in it,” she said. The couple, who met when they were 15, have been married for eight years.

And on a much fruitier note…Jamie recently revealed that he wore a rather odd handcrafted creation to help conceive a boy. It is definitely TMI but cute too!

Jamie confessed that he wore a frozen nappy (diaper) to boost their chances of having a boy. Jamie said he’d heard that temperature could improve his and Jools’ chances of conceiving a boy.

He said: “I don’t know what sex it is yet. I know a lot of people say I keep talking about having a boy.

“And, well if I had a choice then it would be a boy – but I want to just make it clear that I’m happy whatever the big man gives me, as long as it’s healthy.”

He added: “I’ve tried quite a few things, I found out from a specialist that it’s about temperature, temperature of the balls.

“So what I did is I bought an adult nappy, soaked it in water, froze it, cut a hole for the c**k and we made love.”

It seems that Jamie probably didn’t intend to make this confession as he added on TV show Friday Night with Jonathan Ross: “I actually didn’t plan on having this conversation Jonathan.”

obviously like your website but you have to take a look at the spelling on quite a few of your posts. Many of them are rife with spelling issues and I to find it very troublesome to tell the truth then again I will definitely come back again.

suggested recipe names for this one. “mint basted jewels for jools” or “jamie’s fruitful twig and berry delight”

It is rare for sure, it is quite rare to see a guy trying hard to have a baby.

LOL! Refreshing to see the male making such an effort for conception—especially when he’s trying to have a boy.

Poppy and Daisy are sweet names, I prefer names like this to Harlow (a town in England) or Suri or Siloh or whatever else, you dont normally get English people naming their children names like this. I suppose it just goes to show how different the English and Americans really are.
