Carmen Electra Hopes To Be A Mom Someday

Carmen Electra

Carmen Electra feels that motherhood can wait – for now.

“I hope to be a mom some day, but I’m not rushing to be one,” Carmen told People magazine at Shrine at MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Connecticut. “It would be a lot of fun. A lot of hard work, but I’ll look forward to it someday.”

Carmen took a detour from filming her latest movie Mardi Gras in New Orleans to meet fiancé Rob Patterson’s parents. “They’re really cool,” she said. “We had a great day today and … we’re looking forward to doing some dancing then going straight back to New Orleans.”

She may be getting back to work on her movie, but that’s not the only project Carmen, 36, has in the works. She will be releasing her own new line of portable stripper poles so ladies can get a work out Carmen style. “They’re so much fun,” she says. “I actually put one up in my living room with the help of a girlfriend.”

“Pole dancing really isn’t as easy as it looks,” she adds. “I’m still taking pointers. It’s a good workout.”

Hmmm…portable stripper poles?

I respect Carmen’s decision to wait until she feels ready to have a child. I won’t divulge my age but can say that I am close to Carmen’s age group and i still do not want to have children yet. Biology is certainly an important factor when having children but with so many modern medical breakthroughs in conception there is hope for those who choose to wait. And if it doesn’t work out – oh well – I can finally get a pug dog.

I must add though that I find Carmen’s fiance to be quite yucky looking.

I think it’s part of her ‘persona’ to act like a ding-bat. She would probably be a fine mother if she could cut the act for a few years.

I think it’s fine to have kids late, but don’t be surprised if you can’t. And that’s got to be heartbreaking. Good luck to her, her prime child bearing years have already come to an end. I’m not trying to judge – she needs to do what is right for her… but biology is not always fair.

I don’t agree with waiting too late in life with having kids. Healthy babies or no healthy babies. If you have a baby at 40 look how old you are when they graduate. God Forbid you have any health problems. Its the same as being raised by your grandparents IMO. How are you ever supposed to enjoy your grandchildren? Not saying it cannot be done, I am saying its risky. There is a lot more too it than simply giving birth.

#2, Why does she have to hurry having kids? Women 36+ are having healthy babies everyday. You can’t rush having kids. ♥ Carmen. She’ll make a great mom! 😉
